Inspiration
As approaching high-school students, we recognized the need for good time management and productivity to excel as students. We identified problems that caused procrastination and an unwillingness to learn. Then we thought of ways to solve these problems and came up with this exciting new app!
What it does
This app helps with productivity. It includes a to-do list where you can write down urgent things that need to be completed. It also provides a journal space in which you can review you're stidy sessions, identify distractions, new study tips and more! This app also comes with a timer where you can time your study sessions. The app also comes with a customizable pet. Depending on how many of your tasks you check off or how long you study, rewards can be bought from the pet shop.
How we built it
We used VsCode and the languages JavaScript, HTML and CSS
Challenges we ran into
One of our main challenges was that we originally intended to use the Figma software to create the design component of our westie. However we later discovered that the only way to export the code was to upgrade to premium. So we had to restart and manually code. Another challenge was executing the idea itself because we were beginner coders and it took a lot of research and effort .
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are really proud that despite the major setback that occurred we were still able to get it done.
What we learned
We learnt a lot more on how to code and the general feel of programming
What's next for Focus Friend
We think that mainly for Focus Friends the next steps should be improving the design and functionality of the app.
