Inspiration

Studying often meant jumping between multiple websites, videos, and notes just to understand one concept. Explanations were either too long, too shallow, or disconnected from feedback. I wanted a single place where learning, testing understanding, and knowing what to study next all happened instantly. Focus AI was created to remove friction from learning and replace it with clarity, structure, and momentum.

What it does

Focus AI is an adaptive micro-learning platform that turns any topic into a short, focused lesson followed by a quiz and personalized recommendations.

Users:

  • Enter a topic
  • Receive a concise explanation
  • Answer a short quiz (3 questions)
  • Get feedback on their understanding
  • Receive a recommended next lesson based on performance

The platform also tracks progress, quiz scores, bookmarks, and learning history through a dashboard, allowing users to learn efficiently without guessing what to study next.

How we built it

The prototype was built using Base44. The system architecture includes:

  • AI-generated micro-lessons

  • Multi-question quizzes tied to each lesson

  • A UserProgress entity tracking quiz scores, completion, and bookmarks

  • A dashboard with visual insights into learning progress

  • An adaptive recommendation system that suggests the next lesson based on mastery

For this prototype, educational video integration is available for selected topics such as Python and Photosynthesis, demonstrating how external resources can be embedded into the learning flow.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Built a complete end-to-end learning flow, not just an idea
  • Implemented adaptive, performance-based lesson recommendations
  • Designed a full progress-tracking dashboard with meaningful insights
  • Created a scalable system that works across subjects and learning levels
  • Delivered a functional prototype under strict time constraints

What we learned

This project demonstrated that effective learning tools are not about longer content, but about feedback, structure, and progression. I learned how to design user-centric systems, think in terms of data and learning outcomes, and translate educational problems into technical solutions even without heavy coding.

What's next for Focus AI

Future development includes:

  • Expanding adaptive recommendations across more subjects
  • Adding difficulty levels and mastery thresholds
  • Enhancing quiz logic with spaced repetition
  • Integrating richer content sources beyond YouTube
  • Supporting multilingual learning and accessibility

Focus AI is designed to scale, from a simple prototype into a global learning companion.
