Inspiration
I was inspired by all the videos I have seen of people trying to achieve their New Year's Resolutions, and give them rewards for the discipline and motivation needed to continue these resolutions. Typically over half of resolutions are forgotten within the first 2 months of the New Year, and I hoped that my app could remedy that issue.
What it does
The app allows users to store their resolutions and have either a second user or the verification system make sure that they are staying on top of their resolution. If the resolution is not followed then the streak will be broken and all the points they had in that streak will also be lost. Also the bonuses benefit those with longer streaks. The user can then redeem gift cards by trading in their points, and also view the resolutions they have completed.
How we built it
I utilized HTML and CSS to build the majority of the we application. There was a small amount of Javascript that was used in order to make the button functionality much smoother.
Challenges we ran into
The hardest part was trying to get everything on the app, and also try to find some way to add the resolution to the resolution list.
What's next for Focus
I didn't have time to complete the verification system, so the next step would be to have a verification system to make sure that the user provides proof that they are staying on top of their resolutions.
