A web application that lets you buy drink vouchers that can be used at participating bars, and send them as a gift code to friends and family via text.

Inspiration

We first got the idea of doing something related to drinks from the event sponsor Anheuser-Busch and we then thought that there was no current app that allowed people to gift drinks in this manner so we choose to create one.

What it does

Allows users to send redeemable gift vouchers to friends for drinks at partnered bars via text.

How we built it

We used Angular for the front end, and spring boot for the backend. We also utilized postman and MySQL for the backend services. We implemented Twilio for the texting functionality of the web app. The spring boot template was authored by Roland Junior Toussaint.

Challenges we ran into

We ran out of time and were not able to implement a payment feature in our demo.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of the idea we came up with and believe it has a lot of opportunity to be expanded.

How MySQL and Twilio work as well as what difficulties can come up when integrating different chunks of a project.

What's next for FoaMe

Get the online deployment working and possibly create a phone app to reduce consumer's barrier to use.
