Inspiration
When you're flying on a plane, it's hard to visualize what's going on beneath you. With this in mind, we decided to create a flight path simulator that will help users to see what's happening on the land beneath them.
What it does
Users can specify a location and use arrow keys to controls a 3D plane around the globe. They can press a "Query" button to see what the weather is like and play a corresponding animation. Spheres of color are also generated in the path of the plane that represents dominant colors from a real map.
How we built it
We used Blender to create the 3D models, 3js to render these models and create the controls, and a variety of geo location apis, nasa images, and weather apis to gather and present more information about the Earth beneath the plane.

- 3js
- blender
