FLUX.1 Kontext Mobile Editor brings advanced AI-powered image editing directly to your smartphone. Inspired by the hackathon challenge to explore FLUX.1 Kontext [dev], I wanted to create a mobile-first workflow where users can transform images simply by typing prompts.
During development, I learned how to integrate a Node.js backend with a mobile frontend using React Native/Expo, and how to securely call the Hugging Face API for FLUX.1 Kontext.
Challenges: • Making the AI model accessible from mobile devices • Handling large image payloads efficiently • Displaying AI-edited images instantly
Accomplishments: • A fully working mobile app that renders AI-generated images in real time • Backend deployed on Render for public access • Simple, intuitive UI for mobile users
What’s Next: • Add LoRA fine-tunes for custom styles and characters • Expand the app with gallery and share features • Optimize AI inference speed for mobile devices
