Inspiration
We think fluids are cool and we wanted the world to know it
What it does
How we built it
We looked far and wide for a framework that would allow visualization of basic physics, and we settled for using a game development environment called PyGame under Python. We defined constraints, forces and objects that can interact like in the real world.
Challenges we ran into
We spent the longest time trying to find the right libraries. There's a lot of them out there for very professionnal purposes and we spent too much time trying to make them work. We ended up settling for a game engine that worked quite well, even though a real fluid was hard to replicate.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
That we had something to present even though our fluid is not perfectly realistic.
What we learned
That particle-based simulation is harder than we thought, but that's it's fun.
What's next for Fluid Molecular Simulation
Just chilling and having a good time.
