Welcome to Fluent In Love (流利的爱)
Here is my submission to the Chroma Awards!
Fluent In Love (流利的爱) is a comedic hip-hop romance that follows an overconfident white rapper who believes he can impress his Chinese date with just a handful of Mandarin phrases. What starts as swagger quickly spirals into increasingly cringe-worthy moments as his linguistic limitations collide with reality. Complete with Greek chorus-style commentary from two Asian rapper friends, the video delivers laughs while teaching essential dating vocabulary. The plot twist ending—where genuine emotion finally breaks through the language barrier—transforms this comedy into a heartfelt story about why we really learn languages.
