Inspiration

I was inspired by the lack of tools that make inventory management simple for sellers — especially for someone like me, who sells on Amazon. All the solutions I found were overly complex, confusing, or missing key functionality. So I decided to build something myself that focuses on the essentials.

What it does

FlowTrack lets sellers scan their supplier invoices directly and converts them into up-to-date inventory with just a few clicks. It also provides a clear and simple dashboard where you can track your products, view low-stock alerts, and manage everything efficiently — without overwhelm.

How we built it

I started by implementing a free OCR scanner I found online and then integrated it with a custom platform I designed myself. I kept the UI clean, simple, and tailored toward what sellers care most about — their inventory. The main goal was to make a tool that's both powerful and easy for beginners to use.

Challenges we ran into

One of the most difficult parts was integrating APIs and navigating Supabase (the backend) with limited coding experience. As a finance major with only a bit of data science knowledge, I faced a lot of technical hurdles. But I kept at it, piece by piece, until everything fell into place.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m proud that FlowTrack is simple, clear, and designed for real sellers’ needs — without overwhelm or confusing menus. The UI lets you see just the data you care about, while making tasks like adding new inventory a matter of drag-and-drop. This sets FlowTrack aside from other, more cumbersome solutions.

What we learned

I learned that users want a tool that solves their main problem — not something that’s filled with every possible feature. Simplicity and ease of use make a huge difference for people. This experience also taught me a ton about coding, designing a UI, and integrating different technologies.

What's next for FlowTrack

My next step is to deploy FlowTrack and hopefully raise funding to grow and improve the platform. With additional resources, I can bring on a team to help me add more functionality, make the platform even more reliable, and reach more sellers who can benefit from a simplified way to manage their inventory.
