FlowState
FlowState was born out of the typical bay area struggles of keeping up with rigorous STEM courses. To solve this, we created a wearing device designed to bridge the gap between focus retention and live-action movements that you take when doing work. With a Ov-2640 camera onto a 3d printed glasses frame integrated with text-to-speech to give live updates and feedback on work that was done. Additionally, with the help of a Muse EEG headband which logs brain signals, we were able to create a parental section where parents are able to track focus while working giving weekly updates. Struggles we faced were camera quality and AI response quality and speed. To fix this, we integrated mutliple AI models including gemini 3 pro preview and Chatgpt 4.0. We learned how to built a highly detailed UI that goes beyond just throwing raw data at the user, but providing comprehensive insights into their study sessions alongside curated resources to help them learn more efficiently. Whats next for FlowState is that we expect to design a more seamless and lower-delay model that will be able to give high-quality and effective responses helping the student learn more.
