FlowSense addresses the "Focus Problem"—the modern attention crisis where students and professionals are overwhelmed by a "Tsunami of Information". We designed a speculative tool to introduce a new digital sense: Focus Awareness, allowing users to perceive their own cognitive state.

What it does FlowSense is an ecosystem that quantifies the intangible experience of deep work:

Real-time Measurement: It tracks "Focus Intensity" on a 1–10 scale.

Biometric Integration: It syncs with heart rate (BPM) and typing speed (WPM) for holistic engagement data.

Active Manipulation: Users can "Log Distractions" to identify invisible triggers and protect their flow.

Wellness Goals: It focuses on emotional wellbeing by increasing deep work time and reducing burnout.

How we built it The project follows a "Calm-Tech" philosophy to minimise cognitive load:

Design: Prototyped with Cognitive Ergonomics, using dark themes to reduce visual noise.

Logic: A session-based flow where users select specific tasks like "Coding: Project Phoenix".

Analytics: An "Insights" engine compares performance trends to find peak focus windows.

Challenges we ran into

Ethics & Privacy: Architecting a system that encrypts focus data and processes it locally to prevent surveillance.

Burnout Prevention: Balancing productivity with "Wellbeing Protection", leading us to remove competitive features.
