Inspiration
Logitech’s MX Creative Console and Actions Ring provide powerful controls, but they rely heavily on manual configuration and static, application-based profiles. Users must predefine shortcuts, switch modes, and adapt their tools for each task, which often adds friction instead of reducing it.
FlowPilot was inspired by a simple question: what if the tools could adapt to the user’s intent rather than requiring the user to adapt to the tools?
What it does
FlowPilot is an intent-aware, AI-assisted workflow concept designed for the Logitech MX ecosystem using the Actions SDK.
Instead of mapping actions only to specific applications, FlowPilot dynamically adapts the Actions Ring, MX Creative Console dial, and MX Master 4 button behaviors based on user intent such as designing, reviewing, debugging, or exporting.
As the user’s task context changes, FlowPilot updates available actions in real time and provides subtle haptic feedback to signal mode transitions and workflow completion.
How it will be built
FlowPilot is planned as a plugin using the Logitech Actions SDK and Logi Options+.
The system is designed to combine application context, cursor and interface focus, and interaction patterns such as scrolling, zooming, and selection behavior to infer task intent.
Initial versions will rely on rule-based logic to ensure predictable behavior, with the architecture designed to support AI-assisted intent inference as the system evolves.
Challenges
A key challenge is ensuring that dynamic behavior remains transparent and predictable for users. FlowPilot addresses this by clearly signaling control changes through visual updates in the Actions Ring and haptic feedback on supported devices.
Another challenge is maintaining a native Logitech experience that aligns with existing Actions Ring interaction patterns and marketplace guidelines.
What we learned
This project highlights how productivity tools can become more effective when hardware and software adapt to user intent rather than static configurations.
FlowPilot demonstrates a path for evolving Logitech’s MX ecosystem from shortcut-based controls into a context-aware workflow platform that reduces cognitive load and repetitive actions.
