Inspiration

Modern hiring relies on CV filtering and subjective interviews which often fail to measure real ability. This leads to missed talent biased decisions and costly mis-hires. We wanted to build a system that evaluates how candidates actually perform in realistic work scenarios rather than how they present themselves on paper.

What it does

Talent Scout is an AI powered recruitment platform that replaces CV screening with evidence based job simulations. Employers create roles and candidates are evaluated through structured scenarios that test decision making prioritization and problem solving. The system produces fast explainable hiring insights instead of simple accept or reject outcomes.

How we built it

We designed a universal interview engine that works across technical and non technical roles. Each interview follows a structured flow including task execution tradeoff decisions ambiguity handling and self critique. Gemini analyzes candidate responses across reasoning quality risk awareness and execution judgment and generates employer ready summaries.

Challenges we ran into

Creating assessments that generalize across many job roles without becoming generic was challenging. We also had to carefully design prompts to avoid standard question and answer interviews and ensure the AI produced explainable outputs that employers could trust.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built a role agnostic hiring engine that evaluates real world competence rather than resumes. The platform demonstrates how Gemini can be used for structured decision evaluation not just conversational AI. It delivers actionable hiring insights in minutes.

What we learned

We learned that observing decisions under constraints produces stronger hiring signals than traditional interviews. We also learned that explainability and human in the loop design are critical when applying AI to high impact decisions like recruitment.

What's next for Talent Scout

We plan to expand role templates add multimodal assessments and introduce employer review workflows. Next steps include pilot testing with real hiring teams to validate quality of hire and time to hire improvements.
