AI is rapidly changing how people learn, create, and work, but prompt engineering education still feels fragmented and difficult for beginners. Most platforms focus only on theory, while users actually learn best through experimentation and interaction.

We wanted to build a platform that transforms AI learning into an engaging adventure. Inspired by retro arcade games, cyberpunk visuals, gamified learning systems, and modern AI tools, we created VibeCode Quest — a futuristic platform where users level up their prompt engineering skills through quests, challenges, competitions, and real-world scenarios.

What it does

VibeCode Quest is a gamified AI learning platform focused on teaching prompt engineering through interactive experiences instead of passive tutorials.

The platform includes:

  • Structured learning paths from beginner to advanced levels
  • Interactive exercises with AI-generated feedback
  • Real-world prompt engineering scenarios
  • XP systems, streaks, achievements, and upgrades
  • Competitive leaderboards and 1v1 AI battles
  • AI assistant for guidance and explanations
  • Community Q&A and prompt sharing
  • Certification exams and progress tracking
  • Personalized learning progression

The goal is to make learning AI prompting feel more like playing a high-quality game than studying a traditional course.

How we built it

We built the platform using a modern web stack focused on performance, scalability, and immersive UI design.

The frontend was designed with a retro-futuristic cyberpunk aesthetic using animated gradients, particle systems, glow effects, glassmorphism, and game-inspired UI interactions.

We integrated AI-powered systems for:

  • Prompt evaluation
  • AI tutoring
  • Real-time feedback
  • Dynamic learning assistance
  • Community interactions

Supabase handled authentication, database management, and real-time functionality for leaderboards, challenges, and community features.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was balancing education with gamification. We wanted the platform to feel exciting and immersive without sacrificing actual learning quality.

Other challenges included:

  • Designing highly animated interfaces without affecting performance
  • Managing complex UI states across many screens
  • Creating scalable progression and reward systems
  • Building real-time community and leaderboard features
  • Structuring AI feedback systems to feel useful and personalized
  • Maintaining consistent visual hierarchy throughout the platform

Creating the retro arcade + cyberpunk visual identity while keeping the experience accessible and responsive was also a major design challenge.
