Let me just start by thanking bolt.new team for enabling me the possibility to start putting my ideas from by brain to something real. It's just the beginning of a new adventure thanks to you.

1/ Inspiration Like many others, I’ve struggled to stay organized. I tested countless tools, from minimal to-do lists to complex project management platforms, and always felt like they added friction instead of focus.

Friends and colleagues voiced the same frustrations:

  • “I don’t know where to start.”
  • “It’s too overwhelming.”
  • “I just want something simple that fits how I work.”

That’s when I realized: we don’t need more features. We need better flow, better focus, and the pride of progress.

2/ What it does Flowmodoro is a productivity tool that brings focus and clarity to your workday by combining:

  • Pomodoro-based time tracking
  • Kanban for workflow
  • Eisenhower Matrix for prioritization
  • Calendar for planning
  • Dashboard for momentum It syncs in real time, works offline (not yet :)), and adapts to how you actually manage your tasks.

3/ How we built it Frontend: React + Tailwind for fast, responsive UI Backend: Supabase with real-time subscriptions Design System: Clean, minimal, with accessible spacing and contrast Approach: Iterative, user-centered development based on real feedback

4/ Challenges we ran into

  • Real-time syncing across multiple views (Kanban, Eisenhower, Calendar)
  • Making drag-and-drop work smoothly with offline support (not yet great..)
  • Balancing feature-richness with clarity and simplicity
  • Implementing the "Play" to Pomodoro flow consistently everywhere
  • Creating an intuitive, cross-functional UX that doesn't overwhelm

5/ Accomplishments that we're proud of :

  • Built a multidimensional productivity tool that stays simple
  • Seamlessly linked Pomodoro timers with task selection
  • Clean, consistent design with no bloat
  • Designed something that users say feels “light but powerful” But most of all, the opportunity to build from scratch a tool that I needed and that others did also. I showcased the project so that people can try, and I have 10+ users waiting for the next version.

6/ What we learned

  • Iteration is more valuable than perfection
  • Real simplicity is incredibly hard to build
  • Preparing a good design before the prompt can save a lot of time
  • Feedback loops = better product, always

7/ What's next for Flowmodoro

  • Add support for subtasks and recurring tasks
  • Task folders and tags for better organization
  • Mobile-first improvements
  • Goal-setting and progress tracking
  • Smart reminders and calendar sync
  • Public launch and open-source contributions
  • AI feedback organization
