About FlowMarine FlowMarine is a next-generation maritime procurement platform designed to simplify and transform how shipping companies manage supply chains. Our mission is to eliminate delays, boost transparency, and automate repetitive procurement tasks, ensuring that every vessel sails on time and budgets are always under control.
Inspiration The inspiration for FlowMarine came from real-world frustrations within the maritime industry—where even a single delayed spare part can cost millions and disrupt global operations. We saw how traditional processes—cluttered with spreadsheets, endless emails, and opaque vendor systems—often resulted in missed deadlines and wasted resources. We aimed to build a smarter command center that brings modern digital efficiency to this age-old industry.
What We Learned Maritime procurement workflows are uniquely complex and require specialized UI and automation—off-the-shelf solutions won’t cut it.
End users crave real-time visibility: Features like dashboard KPIs, live inventory, and instant alerts were most appreciated in prototype demos.
AI can add immediate value: Automated analytics and recommendations are genuinely useful, not just buzzwords.
Integrations and UX matter; users want a system that “just works” in fast-paced environments.
How We Built It Tech Stack: Built using Kiro IDE with full-stack JavaScript (Next.js, Node.js) and integrated with AI features for analytics and automated insights.
Front End: Modern UI (React/Next.js), glassmorphism and animated transitions for an intuitive, professional feel.
Back End: Real-time inventory and vendor systems; secure, scalable cloud deployment.
AI & Automation: Leveraged Kiro for rapid development, code generation, and integrating intelligent analytics hooks and insight modules.
Video Demo: Created a practical scenario walkthrough using screen recordings, stock imagery, and AI-generated voiceover to simulate real user journeys.
