Inspiration
The idea of our project came from wanting to be as diverse as possible in the challenges. We wanted a product that can be competitive against other team's more specialized solutions.
What it does
Flowlight is a lamp capable of a wide range of movement and easy adjustability with just the movement of your hands. It does this by tracking your hand movements through a camera and translates your movements to what the lamp does.
How we built it
We took advantage the standard hardware equipment along with several servos along and multiple bulbs to help facilitate our main goal of the lamp being able to have a wide range of adjustment. We also used 3d modelling and printing to create a lamp shape that can hold and interact with the hardware. Furthermore, we used a computer to make python code to where when the computer camera tracked a hand movement, the lamp will interpret the hand movement as code to execute.
Challenges we ran into
We formed our team the day the hackathon started. We started much later compared to other hardware teams.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We somehow managed to complete our project in a single day.
What we learned
the idea of "Measure twice, cut once".
