Inspiration: Periods are still surrounded by stigma, and most period-tracking/journaling apps feel either too clinical or too generic. We wanted to create something that feels personal, supportive, and empowering — a space where people can track not just their cycle, but also their emotions, wellness, and lifestyle in a way that actually fits them.
What it does: FlowFit is a period journaling and wellness platform that helps users log their cycles, moods, and daily reflections. It goes beyond basic tracking by offering personalized insights, wellness tips, and journaling it empowers users by helping them keep track of their lifestyle and flow. It also features a calendar where users can mark busy days to better plan around their cycle.
How we built it We built FlowFit using React with TypeScript for a structured frontend, along with CSS and HTML for styling and layout. This stack allowed us to create a responsive, user-friendly interface while keeping the codebase clean and scalable.
Challenges we ran into One of the biggest challenges we faced was debugging. We ran into issues where files weren’t placed in the proper folders, which caused repeated errors saying the files didn’t exist. Tracking down and fixing these problems took time, but it taught us a lot about project structure and organization.
What's next for FlowFit We will integrate an AI-powered assistant to provide personalized cycle insights, wellness recommendations, and mood-based journaling prompts. This feature will help users better understand their patterns, predict upcoming cycle events, and receive actionable tips for self-care.
