Inspiration
I work with designers and Creative Individuals. The inspiration for FlowCheck came from watching countless designers struggle with inconsistent quality control and endless revision cycles.
I've noticed that even experienced designers often overlook critical elements, such as accessibility standards, brand consistency, or technical requirements, when working under tight deadlines.
The traditional design review process is fragmented, happening too late in the workflow when changes are expensive and time-consuming. So why not use the technique that Doctors and pilots have vouched for, following a Checklist.
What it does
FlowCheck is a quality assistant that integrates directly into Adobe Express as a sidebar add-on. It provides a comprehensive checklist covering content and copy, Visual Design, and technical and export requirements.
The system tracks progress dynamically, offering personalized recommendations like estimated completion times and workflow optimization suggestions.
FlowCheck analyzes your design decisions as you work, ensuring brand consistency, accessibility compliance, and professional standards are met before you hit publish or share with clients.
How we built it
The application leverages Vite for fast development and hot reloading. We designed the interface to seamlessly integrate with Adobe Express's existing UI patterns, using Lucide React icons for consistency.
Challenges we ran into
Balancing comprehensive quality checks with a clean, non-overwhelming user experience required multiple design iterations.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am incredibly proud of creating a tool that genuinely improves the design workflow rather than adding complexity.
We successfully built an interface that feels like a natural extension of Adobe Express, and our comprehensive checklist covers everything from basic content review to advanced accessibility standards.
Most importantly, we created something that both novice and expert designers can benefit from immediately.
What we learned
This project taught me the critical importance of user experience in productivity tools; even the most powerful features are useless if they interrupt the creative flow.
I also discovered that quality assurance in design is intensely personal; different designers have different priorities and workflows, so flexibility and customization are essential.
What's next for FlowCheck
I'm looking forward to the competition. Even if I don't make it, I would still publish the product in the marketplace.
