Inspiration
Thinking up of project ideas is difficult, especially for beginners. We want to make an app that helps ease that process.
What it does
Flow is a productivity application that allows users to brainstorm project ideas by guiding them through the fundamentals of project design.
How we built it
First, we designed our website on Figma and designed an interactive demo where our web developer could base their designs on. We then used React to build out our website with the combination of JavaScript, CSS, and HTML to furnish our website.
To maintain users' information while they are navigating away, we are making use of Google's Firebase to temporarily store users' information until they come back.
Challenges we ran into
Learning React for the first time and getting acquainted with it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to bring what could be seen as a boring and simple brainstorming process to an interactive one.
What we learned
We learned many different development skills from the design, development, and implement a process by separating our work. Simulating an Agile development approach, where the process continually cycles into:
- Discussion with our peers.
- Analyze the type of outcome we wish from our product.
- Strategizing to develop the website.
- Executing and compiling our program to be ready for demo.
- Testing its functionality and receive feedback from mentors.
What's next for Flow
We would like to host our website onto a domain and distribute this to students that need help brainstorming their idea for their upcoming projects or assignments!
