Inspiration 🌱

  • Ever wanted to have your thoughts shared online with no interruptions, anonymously? With no judgement whatsoever~
  • Freely share your inner thoughts without having to feel scared about others judgement
  • Using web3, the anonymity factor can be increased by multiple folds, hence we decided to power our platform with the help of Flow
  • With our platform Confi that is powered by Flow, you can now freely communicate your thoughts out with the ease of anonymity given by Flow

What it does 👀

  • No third party authorization, the auth has been handled by Flow
  • Post your one time thoughts on to the platform without having anyone else hinder it
  • With Flow, the rants are stored on the blockchain where everything stays safe, transparency exists all the while ensuring anonymity throughout the entirety of your duration on the platform
  • The moment when you submit the
  • FlowcodeSnippets - steep learning curve of Flow can be tackled with our smol FlowCodeSnippets for contracts, read and add confessions!

How we built it 🦾

  • We have used Flow testnet, localnet and FlowCLI to implement our project.
  • Flow provides an emulator for us to spin up a local flow blockchain instance without any major config files like hardhat, etc.
  • Flow has first class support for React, and the library also supports SSR, which made it easy for us to use it with NextJS
  • We have also used bun to improve ou r workflow

Challenges we ran into 🏁

  • We unfortunately had a pretty late start due to other commitments
  • Learning Flow in a time crunch (though we ended up making a fully functional project that leverages Flow in the best way possible)
  • Target audience for such platforms could be of varied sense, we didn’t want to develop the platform for a certain niche of topics - the designing was definitely hard but worth it!

Accomplishments that we're proud of 🏆

  • Despite having a pretty limited time to work on, we were able to present with a fully functional project
  • Learning to play and integrate Flow! The realm of web3 is vast with really great technologies out there, we are glad to be able to get more familiar with technologies like Flow
  • We had a really hard time to come up with good integration and design for this platform since we wanted it to be open to all sorts of niches

What we learned 🧠

  • The potential of web3! A lot of us don’t really realize that web3 is a whole new version of the internet! Lot of things tend to be limited to tokens, NFTs, cryptocurrency but the anonymity and ledger system actually has a lot more use cases than one thinks
  • Integration and use of Flow - we are complete newbies with how Flow works, understanding and implementing it was the next best thing to do after learning it!
  • Making a user interface that could be compatible with multiple groups of people with varies interest!

What's next? 🔮

  • We want to incorporate more structure to our confessions’ app since we think once the user base increases, tags would be super helpful
  • More anonymity 👀
  • Avatars and additional customization
  • Community based groups that could either be based on data input/interests.
