Inspiration

I would like to provide HubSpot customers to create website based on last trends: typography, large titles, big images, clean design, brutalism, scrolling elements and etc. Moreover the website shouldn't be too cluttered. Cluttered designs are ones that lack visual order, thus increasing cognitive load as users struggle to parse the visual landscape and understand which parts are important. I think website should be easy to use for visitors and creators.

Also I would like to create theme for users without design and coding skills. It will help them to build modern website without going beyond a common style.

Challenges I ran into

Website performance. Trends dictate us to use large images, video backgrounds, scripts and etc. This affects the performance of the website. I wanted to catch the best balance. And now pages based on templates of theme get 90+ points by GTmetrix (server location San Antonio, TX, USA).

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Hero Slider

Powerful module to create beautiful slider. Large library of options. Customers can use the slider in any part of the page. They can customize every slide.

Custom Backgrounds

Theme contains modules for creating sections with custom backgrounds. Customers can create ANY LAYOUT and drag and drop one of these modules to any place of section. An excellent result is guaranteed.

CTA Integration

A lot of modules provide opportunity to add CTAs. So HubSpot users can use marketing tools.

Module Large Text

This is a very simple module, but it allows you to completely change the design of your page. Just add text lines and customize it.

What I learned

It's hard to create themes alone but it is possible.

What's next for Flow

I will update predefined modules and templates, add new options and features for theme.
