What it does

Floret aims to take data collected by large corporations and display meaningful ways it can be used to the user. Then it aims to help you wrangle your data into a place where it is no longer winding up in the wrong hands.

How we built it

We used Figma for the App design, and then had a proof on concept Python program that can take your data and then plot it so you can see what the advertisers can see.

Challenges we ran into

A Challenge we ran into was nailing down exactly what and how we want to show the users. At the moment we can show you what your location data can mean for your privacy, but had difficulty determining if this would be enough to allow people to see our vision.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of entering in a market space that is untapped. There does not exist an app that can work with you to clean up your data online.

What's next for Floret - Own Your Data

We aim to make connections with other companies in order to get rights to user data we may not have access to as easily as some of the companies that offer you to download it for free.
