Inspiration
I've struggled with my gut health for a long period of time, and I had to go through a long journey of fixing it. one day, I told my sister overseas to buy me a good probiotic supplement since local products from my country aren't usually trustable, and she didn't know any, and neither did I. I had to go do some research online, and even that didn't help. so, I decided to do proper formal research on which probiotic strain does what.
What it does
FloraFinder is a web app that helps users find suitable probiotic supplements without needing a scientific background. Instead of guessing which supplement to buy, users can search for probiotic strains or health goals and learn what different bacteria actually do.
How we built it
i used Flask/Python for back-end, HTML&CSS and JS for front-end, and a JSON database of probiotic strains and their benefits.
Challenges we ran into
handling the amount of probiotic strains that exist, and definitely using JS, I have less experience in JS and neither can I design well, so this was definitely a challenge.

What's next for FloraFinder
expanding the probiotic database, integrating the app with health trackers, partnering with health/wellness brands.
