I've noticed how difficult it can be to actually manage a sustainable lifestyle with no guidance or centralized resources, this is where Flora comes in. Flora is a centralized free-use resource to educate users about climate change and its causes whilst giving them the tools to take action to reduce their emissions.

What it does

Flora educates users about climate change and provides simple solutions for average people to work to reduce their impact on climate change. It features an emission calculator, a "Sustainable Swaps" page, and a lot more information to educate users on what companies contribute the most to climate change, what companies are the most or least sustainable, etc.

How I built it

I used HTML, CSS, and Javascript to build the functionality, Canva for the logo,, Github, and Atom for the hosting/editing.

Challenges I ran into

I struggled a bit with getting all the aspects of the project to work in conjunction with one another but eventually I was able to solve the issues.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Learning new things and pushing myself to try things I hadn't before!

What I learned

I learned a lot more about design, how to work to ensure everything works in combination with each-other, how to create a positive user-experience, and integrate functional elements.

What's next for Flora

I hope to build a chatbot that can provide personalized responses to questions about sustainability, I want to add more interactive features that work to improve the user experience, and I hope to expand upon the information offered to include a variety of companies and environmental issues.
