When I was studying in 7th class, our area in Vijayawada was completely filled with flood water. It happened very suddenly, and we didn’t understand how serious the situation was until it was too late.

We had to leave our home quickly, taking only some important documents and a few clothes. We were really scared because everything around us looked dangerous and uncertain. For two days, we stayed in a hotel, not knowing what would happen next.

When we came back home, the situation was very upsetting. The entire ground floor was filled with water. Our furniture was damaged, roads were spoiled, and many people around us had lost their valuable things. Everyone was feeling helpless.

The most difficult part was that no one guided us. We didn’t know what precautions to take, what to do during the flood, or how to recover after it.

That’s when I understood something. We may not be able to stop floods, but we can definitely be prepared for them if we have the right guidance.

This experience is the reason behind FloodVision. We want to help people stay prepared, stay safe, and recover better during floods.
