Flood Escape Reloaded — Developer Story
🧠 Inspiration
Flood Escape began as a remix world I built for the last competition — but it quickly became something much more. Producing and developing alone is hard, but what started as a fun project grew into a major creative outlet in my life — a space to channel the art and imagination I’d been missing deeply.
I built it with my kids in mind, wanting to make something fast, colorful, and exciting — something they’d think was cool to play together.
🎮 Gameplay
The world is first and foremost a mobile-friendly Obby featuring quick one-minute rounds, uniquely designed and handcrafted levels, and a simple goal: survive the rising flood.
Each stage was made to feel different, with interesting movement paths, dynamic obstacles, and vibrant energy. Building it reminded me why I love creating — it was pure creative fuel, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
🤖 AI Integration
A big part of this project’s success came from using AI tools to accelerate the creative process.
- ChatGPT for concepting and textures
- Suno AI for original music
- Horizon’s AI tools for models and materials
AI allowed me to bring my ideas to life faster than ever — giving me back what time normally takes. Honestly, I don’t think I could have completed a project of this size on my own without it.
💡 Reflection
I’m proud of how much was achieved in such a short time. Flood Escape represents both my love for creation and the power of new tools that let us build faster, dream bigger, and share our worlds with the people who inspire us most.
🔮 Future Plans
Flood Escape will continue to expand with new levels, improved mechanics, and a fully functional store system where players can spend earned cash on cosmetics and other unlocks.
I plan to keep refining the visual art direction, add fresh environments, and introduce progression systems that reward returning players. This is just the beginning — there’s so much more to come.
