Inspiration

I have tried atleast 30 productivity apps, everythings is fun for the first few days and then the slump. I have rarely got something out of it. While I noticed that others were able to get good outcome from each app I started feeling lost, thinking I have something wrong with me. Which led me to understand more about the space. This also led me to ask this question, if productivity apps are so good/righteous then why their 30day retention is less than 10%. This is where the idea of personalized productivity system came into my mind. You might need a task + kanban + journaling view someone might just need a task and pomodoro to win the world.

What it does

That's what Flomingo is, a personalized productivity system. Here we start with assessment which is our key offering, a user is given insights about their own brain after asking 38 questions spread across 7 domains. All based on science, based on this assessment we give you a system outline which will work for your brains. We already have different productivity modules inbuilt in our tool if you'd like to use it all at one place else feel free to use other tools with better knowledge about self.

How we built it

We started by diving deep into cognitive science and neurodiversity research, discovering distinct patterns that determine how people work best. We distilled years of research into a 5-minute assessment that maps cognitive productivity profiles with 94% accuracy—no fluff, just essentials. Our personalization algorithm takes your profile and creates custom recommendations tailored to YOUR brain's operating system. We tested with hundreds of "productivity refugees" like ourselves, iterating until people were finally sticking to systems for months instead of days.

Challenges we ran into

A lot of challenges, how to give AI proper instruction, how the context window will leave a lot of inputs you've added, how to structure the build, how to integrate AI and so many others. But we passed each challenge and finally this is built.

We are proud of bringing Flomingo to life, there are so many things we are trying along with this, which will be live in coming days.

What we learned

Key learning is how important clear instruction and testing is, also learned how to bring things to life faster than ever before.

What's next for Flomingo

Flomingo's current version is just a rough sketch. Soon we will add more modules, auto selection of productivity systems based on recommendation from AI. Sorting feature for neurodivergent groups and other ways to give as personalized system as possible.
