Inspiration

We wanted to learn & do something new. Our inspiration for creating FlixZone stemmed from a passion for film and the desire to make the movie-watching experience more enjoyable and personalized. We recognized the need for a movie recommendation platform that tailors suggestions to individual tastes and makes it easier for users to discover great films.

What it does

FlixZone uses advanced recommendation algorithms to suggest movies based on user's preferences and provides features such as recommendations, search and explore, reviews, and more. Users can interact with the app to find the perfect movie for any occasion.

How we built it

We built FlixZone using the Flutter framework, which allowed us to create a cross-platform app that works seamlessly on various devices. And, we have used tmdb API for data fetching.

Challenges we ran into

Developing FlixZone came with its set of challenges. We had to address issues related to data integration, and optimizing the recommendation algorithms for accuracy. Additionally, content curation and ensuring that user reviews and ratings were moderated presented its own unique challenges. Moreover, the search & login authorization was a big challenge we had to overcome.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of several key accomplishments in the development of FlixZone. These include successfully implementing personalized movie recommendations, and creating a user-friendly interface. Despite its having so many problems & lacking we are proud of our app. We plan to develop it more & optimize it in our future works.

What we learned

We have learned, flutter, Figma, dart, and different types of API integrations in-app and the process of working on a project within a team. Importance of database and critical thinking!

What's next for FlixZone

We want to add review & community type features to our app. And use a stronger database, so our customers can get more refined recommendations.
