Inspiration

We’re not artists, but we admire art’s beauty and personality. Seeing AI lack that emotion, we aimed to bring it back. We drew inspiration from Gartic Phone’s animation mode.

What it does

Flipus is a communal animation platform where users add frames to shared projects, building animations together.

How we built it

We used React, Firebase (auth + metadata), Cloudflare (images), and Vercel (deployment). Claude helped test ideas.

Challenges we ran into

AI failed at generating or extending frames, so we dropped it and focused on human-created art.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built a collaborative animation app and gained experience creating animations ourselves.

What we learned

We learned image storage with Cloudflare and the limits of AI art.

What's next for Flipus

Improve the UI, which still feels clunky.
