Inspiration
The inspiration for Flip-N-Rizzz came from the idea of combining a classic memory-matching game with a fun, chaotic twist of brainrot culture.the entire UI is is in traditional meme template. i wanted to create something that not only challenged players' memory but also added a layer of humor and meme culture that could make the experience more enjoyable. Words like "Sigma," "Mog," and "Skibidi" were integrated into the design to give it a unique flavor, blending nostalgia with a fresh, hilarious take on a traditional game.also it has background music and sound effects so, SOUND ON
What it does
Flip-N-Rizzz is a mobile memory-matching game where players can test their brainpower by matching pairs of cards in various themes. The game includes single-player and multiplayer modes, allowing you to go head-to-head with friends or challenge yourself solo. Cards come in multiple hilarious themes, all while keeping a light-hearted, meme-inspired design that draws on brainrot culture. Whether you're playing as a lone Sigma or flexing as a Chad in multiplayer mode, Flip-N-Rizzz is all about having fun while testing your memory.
How I built it
Built with Flutter, Flip-N-Rizzz integrates a robust structure using Dart for smooth gameplay and responsive UI. The game logic was implemented to handle both single-player and multiplayer modes, ensuring seamless interactions between players. The design was influenced by meme culture, with cards featuring quirky, brainrot-themed artwork.
Challenges I ran into
One of the main challenges i faced during the development of Flip-N-Rizzz was managing the state in Flutter. Since Flutter is not inherently a game engine, handling the game's dynamic state proved to be more complex than anticipated. As a game, Flip-N-Rizzz requires frequent updates to the game state—such as when cards are flipped, matched. Managing this efficiently while ensuring smooth performance across different game modes was a significant challenge.
Accomplishments that Iam proud of
One of the accomplishments I'm most proud of is completing Flip-N-Rizzz as a solo developer during my very first hackathon. As someone who had never participated in a hackathon before, I had to learn quickly, push my limits, and manage the entire development process on my own. This project pushed me out of my comfort zone and gave me the opportunity to refine my skills in both Flutter and state management.
What i learned
Learned a lot of things during this weekend, Talked to a lot of people, made me realize no matter how hard the challenge is if you have the mindset and the right people beside you, you can and will overcome it,
What's next for Flip-N-Rizzz
plan to introduce more themes, new multiplayer features, and additional customization options to make the game even more fun and engaging. also planning to introduce an online multiplayer with the turn based multiplayer that i currently have
