Inspiration
My partner and I share a diverse cultural interest and wanted others to enjoy and see the wonders of the world!
What it does
This app is basically a "flash-card" app not only sharing vocabulary of different languages but as well as different cultural lifestyles such as dishes, events, holidays, etc...
How we built it
We mainly used Android Studio and its foundational languages: Java, XML.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into some challenges that resulted in Dark Mode due to our new experience with Multipage Android App development. We also had some bugs within the programming of implementing audio recording that correlates with our "flash-cards", making us opt the audio out of the final draft of this project
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our accomplishments are learning and being more familiar with Android Studio, as well as giving more practice for our skills as programmers to see the correlation between a front end and back end of an application. Artistic practice by creating new images for the app displays has also been an improvement.
What we learned
We learned more about the navigation and structural integrity of how Android Studio works.
What's next for Fling (Flashcard Language Learning)
This App was mainly a form of practice and learning using Android Studio! However, in time there can be updates within the app, bringing more knowledgeable facts about different parts of the world. With more information about the world, there will also be a menu and scroll pages to easily navigate through to enjoy and learn about the mentioned countries as well.
