Introduction

Flight For Life is born out of a simple yet powerful mission: to save lives in critical situations by bridging the gap between emergency calls and lifesaving care. In emergencies where every second matters, we aim to revolutionize the response process through innovation, efficiency, and a human-centered approach.

The Problem

Emergencies are chaotic and time-sensitive. For 911 operators, navigating through the stress of rapidly identifying locations, coordinating resources, and dispatching help is overwhelming. Delays in communication and logistical inefficiencies often mean the difference between life and death.

Key challenges include:

  • Difficulty in pinpointing precise rescue locations, especially in remote or hazardous areas.
  • Complex and time-consuming coordination between multiple teams.
  • A lack of user-friendly systems tailored for emergency operators, which hinders rapid decision-making.

Our Solution

Flight For Life addresses these challenges head-on by introducing a user-friendly, tech-driven platform designed to streamline emergency response. Our system incorporates advanced AI-powered vision technology to detect individuals in need of assistance and automatically notify first responders.

Key Features:

  1. Seamless Location Tracking:
    • Advanced GPS mapping ensures precise location tracking, even in hard-to-reach or remote areas.
  2. AI Vision Model:
    • A fine-tuned AI detection model identifies people in distress and sends immediate notifications, including their location, to MSM first responders on the scene.
  3. Optimized for 911 Operators:
    • Intuitive interface tailored to handle the high-stress environment of emergency calls, enabling operators to dispatch help efficiently.
  4. Real-Time Coordination:
    • Live communication tools connect 911 operators and on-ground responders in real-time.

Tech

This project was simulated in Unity. The server is powered by Flask, and the AI vision system is built on a fine-tuned version of the YOLO11 detection model. The frontend is developed using Next.js with Shadcn.
