Flicker Feathers is a Bitsy-based game that tells the real-life story of an individual who lost their business, home, and entire town in a catastrophic wildfire. By playing the game, users empathize with the challenges and struggles of the individual and are given an opportunity to make real-life contributions to their rebuilding.

Flicker Feathers was inspired by the tremendous loss experienced by the community of Greenville, CA when they lost their town to wildfire on Aug. 4th, 2021. The flicker is an important bird in local Maidu tradition. Their bright orange feathers represent fire, friendship, and hope. A flicker of hope. Through player donations, we can help bring hope to others when they need it most.
