Inspiration
Our inspiration for this project came from the Tinder interface. We decided to make something similar, but for movies you would like to watch.
What it does
The website lets you click left and right on movies and the movies you click right on are added to your personalized list of liked movies. A detailed summary of common themes and top movies in your list is provided on the review page.
How we built it
We used the React framework to make the website and deployed it using firebase. The movies are introduced using the tmdb api. Along with this we used the MUI component library to style our website.
Challenges we ran into
We faced challenges deploring the website on Amazon Web Services. We also faced some problems with the overall aesthetic formatting of the website. In the end we decided to deploy to firebase.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the successful project completion as well as the innovation and teamwork that went into this project. Also happy we were able to deploy in time!
What we learned
We learned how to optimally troubleshoot and debug when writing programs. We also improved our skills in using frameworks and libraries, as well as responsive design and UI/UX design.
What's next for Flick Findr
We are looking to further the develop the design and the interface of this project, along with this we will add profiles and savable lists using RDS aws service and a custom build API.
