Inspiration
We were inspired by the need for a smarter, more proactive way to manage transit fleet maintenance. Too often, maintenance is reactive, causing delays, downtime, and reduced service reliability.
What it does
FleetPulseDRT helps transit teams monitor 205+ buses, track overdue and upcoming maintenance, and make faster, data-driven decisions. It improves reliability by reducing downtime and helping DRT plan service more effectively.
How we built it
We built FleetPulseDRT as a centralized operations dashboard that combines fleet monitoring, maintenance records, and forecasting insights. Our focus was on creating a simple, practical tool for real transit operations.
Challenges we ran into
One challenge was organizing complex fleet and maintenance data in a way that was easy to understand. We also had to balance useful features with the limited time and scope of a hackathon.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud of building a solution with real-world value for DRT. It not only tracks maintenance needs but also supports more proactive and efficient fleet management.
What we learned
We learned how important accessible, real-time data is for operational decision-making. We also learned how to turn a complex industry problem into a focused and practical hackathon solution.

Dev Patel: I stretched myself by building the forecasting logic and live bus mapping, combining operational data with visualization features in a real-time platform.
Milan Patel: I stretched myself by implementing authentication, security, approvals, and protected access so the platform could support real operational workflows.
Kushal Patel: I stretched myself by working on data integration and helping connect maintenance, fleet, and parts data into a single usable system.
Sai Trivedi: I stretched myself by handling documentation and presentation, making sure the project’s technical value and impact were communicated clearly.
What's next for FleetPulseDRT - Transit Operations Platform
Next, we want to add predictive maintenance, automated alerts, and deeper integrations with transit systems. Our goal is to grow FleetPulseDRT into a full transit operations platform.
