Inspiration
The 4 of us joined ConHacks 2023 because we love tech. This is our first Hackathon for majority of the group members, so we wanted to step out of our comfort zones and develop a project that isn't a console app (college assignments..)
What it does
FlashyCon is a web application designed to help students efficiently memorize course concepts. Created during the ConHacks 2023 Hackathon in Waterloo, ON, this tool allows users to create custom flashcards for their enrolled courses, facilitating a personalized and interactive learning experience. This project was developed over the course of only ~9 hours.
How we built it
Frontend: ReactJS Backend: .NET Web API Database: MSSQL Tools: Vite
Challenges we ran into
We did not have enough time to learn enough to implement what we wanted. We encountered issues when setting up the backend API and we faced hurdles during the registration process with hosting services.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have accomplished a lot of functionality in a short period amount of time.
What we learned
We all learned a lot about working with others in a big group, we learned new technologies and used new tools (React, Vite, Figma, etc.)
What's next for Flashy Con
Maybe if the next Hackathon event was hosted over a weekend, we can finish a full implementation!
