Inspiration

The inspiration behind this project was to build a app that makes education

What it does

The app takes text from the student and curates flash cards that are generated by gpt-3 that the student can study from

How we built it

We built it on flask for the back-end, postgres and redis for our database, nextJS and typescript for our front end.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into platform issues and general tech stack issues which we overcame by breaking the problems into their subcomponents and searching if those subproblems are solved. We made prudent decisions regarding our tech stack, keeping the long term in mind

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to be using a tech stack that is conducive to scale. We sacrificed short term ease for the long term gain.

What we learned

We learned that some tech stacks are good for hacking something really quick while others have an scalability advantage.

What's next for Flashy

Flashy will continue to be scaled further with more features and maybe a open source model.
