Inspiration
We are a team representing the class of 2024, with varied backgrounds and skill sets we are a collective “hive mind” that have a strong ability to solve problems and work together. As student athletes on the Delaware Men’s Crew Team, we must have balance and discipline among many aspects of school and life itself, we decided to create a free and cutting edge study service and notes generator that will revolutionize education. Our goal was to make studying more efficient and entertaining.
What it does
In essence, this program is designed as an educational tool to streamline the learning process through technology. It smartly leverages NLP and ML to digest lengthy texts into manageable, study-friendly materials that can be accessed in multiple formats tailored to the preference of the user, all through a neatly organized web interface.
How we built it
Built in VS Code using Python, Java, Css, HTML, FLASK, BERT
Challenges we ran into
Downloading the PowerPoint and Word Documents, the tokens were very difficult to predict what would happen if a word wasn't in BERTs vocabulary.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of everything, this project was a group effort but we are mainly excited about implementing 5 of our Machine Learning Models into the website.
What we learned
We learned how to implement handwritten notes and convert them to computer text which was something new to a few of us.
What's next for FlashNotes AI
We would love to see where we can take FlashNotes AI in the future, maybe one day making it accessible to the public.
