Inspiration:

Students face severe information overload during exam preparation. Passive reading of dense lecture notes and textbook screenshots often leads to poor retention. We wanted to build an active, engaging, and personalized learning workspace that transforms overwhelming study material into structured, multi-modal learning assets within seconds.

What it does:

FlashLearn AI is an all-in-one AI-powered study pack generator and 24/7 personal tutor. When a student inputs raw lecture notes or textbook images, the platform instantly generates:

Smart Summary and Grounding: High-impact bullet points cross-referenced with live Google Search references.

Gamified Quizzes: Interactive MCQs with real-time scoring and feedback.

24/7 AI Doubt Solver: Interactive chat with one-click chips like Explain like I am 10 and Give a Real-World Example.

Interactive Flashcards: Digital flip cards for key terms and definitions.

AI Audio Tutor: Web Speech API integration with variable speed control for hands-free listening.

How we built it:

AI Model: Gemini 1.5 Flash for rapid text processing, reasoning, and multi-modal handling.

Grounding: Google Search Grounding to attach reliable web references for fact verification.

Frontend: Built with React and Tailwind CSS featuring a glassmorphic indigo-themed dark UI.

Voice Capabilities: Web Speech API for real-time text-to-speech audio rendering.

Challenges we ran into:

Ensuring live reference links for Search Grounding were fully active and reliable without breaking user navigation was a primary focus. We also optimized prompt structures so that all 5 core learning tools generate seamlessly in a single unified state without hitting timeout errors.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

Delivering a zero-break, highly intuitive dashboard with 5 working learning modules.

Creating a Socratic AI Doubt Solver that simplifies complex topics on demand.

Building a complete EdTech solution within the hackathon timeframe.

What we learned:

We gained deep insights into structuring multi-step prompts for Gemini 1.5 Flash, handling multi-modal UI states in React, and seamlessly integrating Web Speech APIs for accessible learning.
