Next.JS + AI Elements + Claude Agent SDK
Challenges we ran into
The claude agent is dumb af.
We used mastra ai framework previously, which had lots of features but I like what claude agent has as a base level.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Connect it to SQL, the current video editing project.
What we learned
Context management is crucial. Too much system prompts make the agent dumb and hard coded. It will not be able to receive feedback.
I tried devin local, GLM-5.2, SWE-1.6 Fast. Devin Desktop codemaps and deepwiki are great.
Unfortunately, did not get the rough cut tool to work properly.
What's next for Flashcut, an ai video editing assistant
Testing with more video editing workflows, making the agent more adaptive.
