We are procrastinators. We ain't joking. Almost postponed doing this to the last 10 minutes.
What it does
Study in a flash! Flashnotes automates the process of taking notes and quizzing yourself on them. Using OPENAI's GPT 3 davinci model, we were able to convert notes into a test that the user can take to study faster.
How we built it
Originally we were planning on creating a rust game engine. But after that fell through, we tried creating Flashnotes and cranked this baby out in 1 hour. Crazy stuff. This was an idea baby that we made based on our collective trauma of cramming for tests. So we first focused on figuring out how to integrate GPT 3 into a website. After that, we focused on building our website using react.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into challenges with the model's output, as it would originally only print out an extremely short response that was cut off.

We scrapped our rust game engine to do this.
