Inspiration

While working on various web and AI projects, I realized there's no centralized, intelligent platform that guides developers to the right tools based on their tech stack or project goals. I was inspired by the concept of an "AI assistant for developers" — something that goes beyond static lists or outdated blogs.

What it does

As developers, we often find ourselves spending hours searching for the right tools—whether it’s a front-end framework, a deployment solution, or an AI API. This pain point inspired us to build the AI-Powered Dev Tool Navigator — an assistant that uses artificial intelligence to help developers discover, compare, and choose the best tools for their needs in seconds. My goal was simple: “Let developers focus on building, not on researching tools.”

How I built it

I built this project during the Google Hackathon 2025 using: Google Cloud Functions – for backend logic and API calls Streamlit Hosting – for fast, reliable deployment Gemini API – to power intelligent tool suggestions and comparisons HTML, CSS & JavaScript – for the front-end UI

I used prompt engineering to fine-tune how the AI interprets developer queries and suggests tools dynamically based on keywords, categories, and use cases.

Challenges I ran into

Prompt tuning: Making the AI suggest tools that are relevant, recent, and accurate UI design: Keeping the interface simple yet powerful for devs of all levels Time constraints: Building, integrating APIs, and deploying everything in less than 48 hours Despite these challenges, the result is a functional, scalable tool that I am proud of.
