Flappy bird and Quizzies.
What it does
First, the student will play a fun multiplication game. Then, they will play a flappy game as a break. Their total score is a combination of their score in math and their score in the flappy game. Students will want to compete against each other to see who has the highest score, and as a result, will get better in multiplication while having fun.
How we built it
We used the pygame library in python to code the game. We used google drawings to make the characters and used images from google for the powerups. We also built a website explaining the game.
Challenges we ran into
There were many, many bugs along the way. Some challenges we faced were displaying the timer, taking mouse input, and doing the collisions in the flappy game.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of displaying the timer nicely, coding the menu, and finishing the quiz and the game.
What we learned
We learned how to make a timer and use mouse input a lot better.
What's next for Flappy Math
We'll incorporate other simple mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, and division.
