Inspiration
Our inspiration was the game Flappy Bird.
What it does
In this game you and your friend attempt to dodge debris in the ocean. The longer you survive the more points you gain, but if your teammate gets hit you both lose!
How we built it
We built this game using Godot Engine and their complementary language GDScript
Challenges we ran into
We were not familiar with Godot, so all of our experiences were new and required lots of trial and error. We had also faced challenges with the transferring of workflow via GitHub.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating a kid-friendly game on an engine we have never used before, while also raising awareness for our planet.
What we learned
We learned how to use Godot as well as learning the language on GDScript! For some of us it was our first time ever working with a game development engine.
What's next for Trash Catchers
We had many ideas that we wanted to implement but simply couldn't because of our time constraint, but we would be interested in adding different enemies like hunters and predatory sea life. The hunters would be hunting an endangered species(turtles), and this closely fits the theme of our game as hunting, similarly to the disposal of trash, is not being done correctly due to corporate greed.
