This project is a 2D Flappy Bird–style game built in Unity that integrates a gacha-based character system and a persistent inventory. Players can unlock different bird characters through a summoning mechanic and manage their unlocked characters in an inventory interface. Each character has unique visuals, and the selected character is carried seamlessly from the inventory scene into the gameplay scene.
A key technical challenge addressed in this project was ensuring consistency across different character assets. To solve this, the game implements runtime sprite normalization and automatic collider resizing, allowing all characters to behave identically in gameplay regardless of their original image dimensions. The system uses data-driven design with ScriptableObjects, enabling easy expansion of new characters without modifying core gameplay code.
Overall, the project demonstrates clean Unity architecture, scene-to-scene state persistence, UI interaction handling, and scalable character management, making it suitable for rapid iteration and future feature expansion.
