Inspiration

We all know that self care is very important, in every aspect of it. But, very often doing it and carrying on with your self care routine doesn't feel as easy as it sounds. That's what we wanted to solve. Things become easy and fun if they're aesthetic, and they make you happy in the first place. Flaneur, /literally means a person who wanders around/ is an app made just for that. A cute polaroid themed app where you can do a bunch of things.

What it does

Flaneur lets users complete their self care activities. On its home screen, it shows them all the self care activities theyve put, and their status [completed/yet to complete], in form of texts on colorful polaroid pictures. A user can add one activity each day, that they're willing to accomplish and then they can hit the checkbox to mark it as done.

Adding an activity is a beautiful process. As soon as someone click on the add button to add a new activity, they'll see a polaroid camera on their screen. To get the text box for putting up the activity task, they'll have to tap on its lens, which would then rotate the shutter and open the text field. After hitting submit, it'll depict capturing of the image, with flashlight flashing, and a polaroid image coming from the camera, which would have the text written over it. The screen would then fade away and the user would be able to see their newly added task.

On the profile screen, a user can see their current streak of completing activities, their maximum streak and the number of tasks they've put up in total.

The quotes screen fetches a random quote from an API and shows it to user each time they visit that screen, its implemented to motivate the users.

How we built it

The app is completely made in flutter using dart as the primary language.
The graphics and UI designs were made in Figma and Canva.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into a couple of challenges such as dealing with localstorage access, implementing rotation and moving animations and completing it in time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of the aesthetics of our app, and the way they vibe with our aesthetics genre as well. We're also proud that we were able to implement smooth animations in flutter that too without using any external software.
