Inspiration
The inspiration for this project was based on the problems that I've noticed in the growing crypto communities:
- High risk associated with funding projects in the crypto space
- Lack of cash flow for the funded company
- Delayed delivery of promised rewards
I wanted to create an easier and the most important safer way to invest and raise funding on Near.
What it does
This platform aims to grow Near community by making it easier to create new projects.
It helps to raise project funding in the crypto space and also reduces risk on the investor's side by giving them the ability to vote whether promises were fulfilled or not. Project founders can create offerings that will provide the funding and in the return will reward investors with tokens. To sustain the required cash stability, access to invested funds will be given during two different phases.
The whole core functionality is executed by smart contracts.
How it works: Flimco -> About
How we built it
I've built it using Rust and Near protocol. The frontend was written in React and Typescript.
The factory contract is based on the token factory example created by the Near team, which turned out to be really helpful.
Challenges we ran into
Learning new technology and hiding the complexity of operating the smart contract under an easy and intuitive user interface was a big challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Completing the project that can work and help others. I'm proud that I've managed to finish this project and that I'm able to present it to the community.
What we learned
- find problems and create solutions
- how to use Rust and Near platform
- how to create the factory contracts to deploy smart contacts in a controlled manner
- how to create a smart contract that can be in a different state without the use of the smart contract operator
What's next for Flimco DAO
- Deploy on the
mainnet - Improvements based on user feedback
- Smaller deployment costs
- Additional functionality
- Better offering filtering and sorting
