Being university students can undeniably be overwhelming. Many students feel as though they lack ways to communicate their emotions or express how they're feeling.
We've developed Flamingo, a web app that enables the user to get in touch with their emotions in various ways.
The meaning behind the name, Flamingo, comes from the symbolic nature of flamingos in Totem culture, where it means "to get in touch with your emotions".
Our vision is that many students (or anyone else) can feel some emotional relief from the services provided through Flamingo.
With regards to the lessons we learned from this project, we found that it was essential to establish clear communication between team members.
As a group, we were all able to learn many different skills and technologies, as well as experiences working in many different development environments and implementing some very tricky APIs.
The biggest challenge we faced was integrating and merging all of the front and back end that we developed separately. We found that all of our separate modules worked fine on their own, but it was very tricky to synchronize them such that we had no problems.
