Inspiration

The film, an original idea of our team, draws its creative inspiration from the iconic dance movies of the 1980s, particularly classics like "Flashdance" and "Fame", capturing the spirit, energy, and transformative power of dance that defined that golden era of cinema. The film serves as the sequel to our previous full-length feature "Flames in the Wind," continuing the narrative journey we began with our earlier work.

What it does

Set in the vibrant South Bronx, "Flames in the Wind 2: Dance Against Time" follows a passionate group of young dancers as they fight to save their beloved community arts center, "The Canvas," from demolition by ruthless developer Victor Blackwell. When corporate greed threatens to erase their cultural sanctuary, Isabella, Gabriel, Emma, Marcus and their crew must unite their community through the power of dance and collective resistance. The film features special guest appearances by David and Maya, two characters from our original "Flames in the Wind" film, bridging the narrative between our previous-generation A.I. production and the latest technological achievements.

How we built it

The screenplay was crafted using SAGA Screenwriting application by Cyberfilm AI Corporation. For video creation we used primarily Google VEO3, and Google VEO2 & KLING AI for the dance sequences. For image creation we utilized Freepik, Midjourney, Flux and KLING AI. The authentic 80s-style original soundtrack was composed and produced using SUNO. We used VEED as video editor and Artlist for sound effects.

Challenges we ran into

The most challenging part of the production process was the production of the intricate dance sequences. Although the result was realitvely fair, it drives us more towards hybrid productions of dance movies, combining human dancers with AI characters.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

"Flames in the Wind 2: Dance against time" is our 3rd full length, fully AI film in just one year. By using the latest AI technologies, we believe that we have created a realistic cinematic experience. Furthermore, we managed to streamline our workflow by eliminating several production stages, cutting our production time to just 16 days from script to screen —down from the 34 days required for our previous feature film ("Flames in the Wind 1"). It is worth noting that the film was voted as one of the 10 Best AI Videos for the last week of August 2025 by the "AI Film Creator Showcase" community.

What we learned

This production taught us that AI filmmaking is still very much a learning process, even after two years in the field. Each project reveals new challenges we hadn't anticipated and forces us to adapt our approach in real time.

What's next for Flames in the Wind 2: Dance against time

Among our future plans is to experiment with hybrid productions, combining actual human dancers for the dance scenes with AI characters, to achieve a more realistic result.
